non-you

Gottfried Helnwein
The Song I (1981)

Knew not you
Knew not mine

Looking through the grass on which this body fell
Drunk to the sinful senses

He sees you
He sees I
The songs and tears
were I

I usually say.. It means what the reader thinks it mean :) because the reader's understanding is not limited to emotions but it is rather a close view of the text itself.

my personal meaning.. the authorial meaning is that the beloved and the lover are one.
now read it with this idea in your mind :D hope it makes sense now

:)

Yesterday was actually my birthday
:D

Happy birthday to me!

Besides.. what nakad?
I don't see any nakad.. its just probably contemplative.. but certainly not nakadiyya!

I was speaking of divine Sufi love, reem was obviously talking about a love of another mortal beloved. both images reflect our view to the idea of love.
